Shoes. They inspire. They arouse. They entice. And chances are, they’ll never abandon you like your favorite pair of jeans after too many Ben & Jerry’s pints. Which is why Acne, the Swedish brand most commonly known for denim and putting out a wicked bi-yearly magazine, has us stoked. 

For autumn/winter 2009, their shoe line has seemingly defied logic by producing
a collection of understated classics and guilty pleasure standouts, all of which are completely wearable. Case in point? The Judd Low and Judd High shoes. At first glance they resemble platforms, at second sight, a wedge. By the third glimpse you realize this towering shoe is equal parts wedge, platform and horse hoof. It’s a rare situation to find a shoe that can not only turn heads but make average legs into catwalk gams. But don’t be fooled, Acne’s line of classics such as the Morgans and Mohany pack subtle punches with their small wedges and androgynous simplicity.
