Those that want a leg up in fashion instinctively turn to footwear. But all you need is a cursory glance at classic foot couture – Charles Jourdan’s brown suede booties circa 1980, Beth Levine’s boots “made for [Nancy Sinatra’s] walking” and Roger Vivier’s stiletto heels for women in Truman Capote-era New York society – prove there are really no new ideas.
But a look at Posso might have people rethinking that vintage homily. In 2007 LA artist/DJs Marylouise Pels and Vanessa Giovacchini took a classic idea – spats – and gave them a new spin. The result: spats for women, which fill what the duo call a “gap in the accessory marketplace.”
Priced in the triple digits the up-to-thigh-high spats dress up those sexy siren pumps or even perky summer sandals.
Spats are only the first step for Posso. Belts and bags are here with more fashion forward finds are around the corner.
For now, shop online at www.possothespats.com and then go out. You should be dancing.
